[Dailydrool] Morse - possible interdigital cyst or foreign body in toe

Hello all.  This is quite a common complaint for bassets isn't it, and
Morse has had a few interdigital cysts in the past, but the current one on
his right back foot is a biggie.  We aren't sure if it is a cyst or a
foreign body.  It suddenly appeared and then burst open last week with lots
of pus and blood, and we bathed it with warm salt water and it healed.
Then a couple of days ago it came back and didn't seem to want to burst
this time, just got fatter and he was having trouble walking on it, so we
limped off to the vets.  They really wanted to do a GA and have a look at
it, but given his age (almost 13 and a half) they have opted for steroid
and antibiotic cream (Isaderm) twice a day and some booties to wear in the
hope that it will heal.  They also drained about 2 syringes of blood from
it which really helped.  So a little drool please if you can spare it, that
this will heal and not turn into something that needs a general.  Morse was
really great bless him and didn't flinch through any of it, just lay on the
floor and had cuddles.
