[Dailydrool] Strawberries

Dear Merta Lou

Your mom is lying. She just doesn't want to share her strawberries. Our mom
gives us strawberries all the time. We even eat the tops she cuts off. We
don't care. The only time strawberries are a problem is when a hound can
only handle so much vitamin C without getting the runs. Mom had to be very
careful when she was processing strawberries in Indiana with Elwood. He
would sit next to her with a bowl under his muzzle to catch all the drool.
The mom would give him any imperfect strawberries. Not rotten and growing
mold. Not those ever. Just the funny shaped ones or bird damaged after she
cut out the areas the birds ate, slightly overripe. You get the picture.
But, if he ate more than about a 1/2 a cup, he got mom up a couple of times
with the runs. But, he was the only one out of 10 hounds. We LOVE our
strawberries, and peaches, and blueberries, and watermelon, and just about
any fruit! Browyn doesn't like bananas or pineapple. It is a texture thing.
