hey my bestest bud murder lew,

dis is your far away bestie dexter,

you have every right not to like them other dogs in yer face at the vets.  I fell yer pain & anguish.  i'm a real friendly guy most of the time but I hate to say it, i'm not the bravest of souls.  and you know w3hat happened to me at the vets once??? I got BIT!  by a big dog ..bigger then doc!!!!


he got me as I walked with my momma right past him in a small place.  his HUGE teeth tried to bite thru my side all the way to the other side.  it hurt so much..i was not so brave.  I cried and SCREAMED!  loud.  they finally got his teeth outs of me and made him go away into someplace else.  people were mad.  my favorite dr came and sat on the floor with me and took care of me.  so did some of my favorite other people.  they gave me medicine so my side wouldn't hurt so much, and the holes wouldn't get fected.  which I guess no one wants a fection.   (affection yes, a "fection" no, just to clarify).


I was so scared.  my momma got me ice cream and that helped.  she was pretty scared too.  so she had some as well (toasted coconut for those keeping count).  she then went & got ice cream for the vetpistal  because she figured they were pretty upset too.  (and if she didn't go back in then she might never go back in...I said she was afraid & upset)


it took a long time fort me to feel brave again there.  sometimes I still get scared.  they changed the office around so no one will get bit again.  and they make sure every time I go I have fun.  


so murder lew I know how it is to get scared when someone is too close..you yell, scream or do what ever you can to let them know it's not ok.  I don't want you to ever get any holes in your beautiful self.

(yes he did get bit at the vets..by a huge shepherd who nailed him as we walked by.  it was awful.  and he was on a long lead.  i could not get dexter away from him.  it seemed to last forever.  NEVER be afraid to say something about a dog who is in your dog's face.  NEVER.  dexter is and was a mess over that bite.  my vet's office is wonderful.  they now make every visit a partym for him..he is a timid boy until he relaxes.
