Hi it’s dale

I want to thank everyone for your kind notes of support on and off drool. I’ve gotten bad at remembering to share my email it’s dalerutz at sbcglobal.net if you need it. And of course dalerutz.com for pictures but I’ve been to busy to update it lately, I will add new pictures soon.

My Snoopy is starting to re-emerge. He played with Chomper a little bit in the living room last night. He just lay there but he alligator mouthed with him some. This morning in the hall on the way down to breakfast there was some stomp in Snoopy’s step.

Part of the problem, I believe, is that the pain meds and the anesthesia mess with his ability to walk ever since he went down in the back that last time. He is basically a three legged dog scooting and dragging that 4th leg when he is on drugs. I don’t know why but that’s how it goes. We gave him a Xanax before the procedure so he wouldn’t be nervous and he had trouble walking in. Well after they gave him whatever they gave him he was obviously walking worse, they were concerned that they had hurt him somehow lifting him On Or off the table but I told them that’s just how he rolls. And then he was clearly in pain so I had to give him tramadol.

So he couldn’t walk and he couldn’t see out of the one eye (we believe he was still seeing light and movement so she blinded that eye but the pressure wouldn’t come down out of the 70s, and this was really the only choice) and it hurt and he had no idea what the heck was going on. He is a stoic old boy but all this was just too much

Now he is 24 hrs+ with no meds and adjusting to no input from the bad eye and I believe we are seeing our Snoopy re-emerge. And I couldn’t be happier about that. He devoured his breakfast, trotted outside to potty, came back wagging, asked to be boosted back into bed and sprawled out side ways taking up most of it and let out a huge sigh. That’s my boy!
