I am saddened to report the loss of a good friend to many of us, Marilyn Deucher. She passed away unexpectedly and quickly on Wednesday.
Many of you will remember her as the “fudge lady”.  For years she made pounds and pounds of tasty fudge to fundraise for Basset rescue. I think many of us are still carrying around an extra pound on our hips. 
She also organized the Ohio mini waddle in December for the last 10 years I believe. She got many of us to freeze our butts off in the coldest part of winter to support her town, Berea Ohio and raise funds for Ohio Basset rescue.
She leaves behind her beagle Christmas who has been taken in and will be loved for the rest of his days by Nancy. 
He’s already made a new friend and is fitting right in. Chunky, her Basset will return to his breeder in New Jersey. He’s hanging out here for a few days until we meet up.
Marylin supported all Basset rescues and was very active in her local Rotary.
Her funeral will be graveside. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Berea rotary. Please specify that your donation stays local with Berea rotary. 
It is difficult to write just this and not go on about what a dear, kind friend she was. I’d known her for years before we started traveling together. I think my youngest son was then 5- he’s 22 now. We’ve had a lot of great times! I think one of our funniest travels was to New Jersey when we and Cathy named ‘Ethel’ ( my GPS). 
We will miss you! I will miss our chats, and our laughs.
