I’m sorry to hear Miss Paddi B’s insomnia is making it so difficult for you to sleep, too. My friend Jennifer’s basset Owen began to have trouble sleeping in the last couple years of his life, in addition to developing separation anxiety. She found he did better if she left the lights on at night. Not in her bedroom but in the kitchen and laundry room. Her vet also recommended she put him on Aricept, which is prescribed to humans suffering from dementia. She said it took some of the edge off for Owen. Of course everyone’s body chemistry is different and thus responds to medication differently, but perhaps Aricept might give Miss Paddi B some relief?
