[Dailydrool] Subterranean Bassets

I would think the safest place in the world for a girl on her own on the
streets or in the country would be a den and what could be better than
crawling under a building in a nice, dark, hideyhole? And if, by chance,
one had a litter or two while on the streets, what better place to raise
children?
Why do dogs love their crates (given a chance)? It is a Safe Place. That's
my theory.
