[Dailydrool] Blanca

My sweet Blanca is no speed demon when walking. It can take us at least 20 minutes for us to go around the  block, as she barely goes more than 2 or 3 blocks without stopping to sniff the area.  Well yesterday I discovered that she can run and walk swiftly for a good block without stopping to sniff at all.  Yesterday we had an unfortunate accident occur.  An 82 year old woman tripped or fell on the sidewalk across the street and the paramedics had to come and take her to the hospital.  She was alive going, but I do not know anything else.  Later that day I was walking Blanca and stopped to talk with a neighbor who knew more about what happened.  Blanca just sat still for several minutes as I talked.  All of a sudden she got up and stared to run down the street as fast as she could go dragging an old man behind her.  She got to the the corner, about 250 feet, looked around and then then took off again at full speed.  I then saw what was going on in her little mind.  She had spotted the mailman, and was running toward him.  He always gives treats, and  she was going for  one.  She did this again when she spotted another person that gives out treats.  There  is dog walker in the neighborhood who has taken liking to Blanca, and Blanca to her.  So again I am dragged down the block until she catches up to  her and gets her treat.  Go figure.
