YaYa is chasing chipmunks and digging holes at the Rainbow Bridge,
departing on Thursday, October 22nd. She took a huge piece of our
hearts with her, as they all do. YaYa came to live with us on April 10,
2018 after Sunny ATB sent us a sign this girl needed us. She made
us laugh at her never ending hunts for voles and chipmunks, at her
industrious digging of holes and rousing bark fests into said holes, no
doubt sending her prey to furthest outreaches of their tunnels. YaYa
had those short legs with lots of wrinkles and long ears and a face
that always seemed to be quite serious - a “smile” was a rarity. She
had a great scowl for a basset hound.

YaYa was diagnosed with leukemia within a few months of becoming
an official Lindy hound; later her diagnosis changed to T-Zone lymphoma
which is a low grade lymphoma and usually easily treated with prednisone
and a low dose chemo pill every other week. This worked well for YaYa for
a little over a year and a half but in September she had a flare up of her
lymphoma; a new chemo treatment presented some complications that
proved too much for her to overcome.

We will forever miss our silly girl who rearranged the dog beds
and scouted the trash cans for paper that she could eat. Toilet
paper was not safe, she loved to steal garden gloves - after all
she was a landscaper of sorts - but she steered clear of garden
hoses. Digging holes in the rain, though, was a perfect pastime
for YaYa. So was sniffing those scents in the rain. It simply meant
you owed her a rub down when she did finally come in the house.

When I saw her picture and her name on the BHRG web site, I knew
this was who Sunny was sending to us. I sent Bill a picture upstairs
to his computer - I don’t ask, I just do. He came downstairs and asked
If we had to keep her name. I said that yes, we do because it is
the only thing that is hers that is coming with her. I’m glad that
when she left she took something with her that will be hers for
all time and that is the love we had for her at first sight.

Goodbye YaYa, our Yadi YaYa, The Ya, Ya, Yadi, Number 10.
Send us a sign that you are okay.

Another great love of our lives has gone on before us.

Donna, drool fueling for just Maggie once again.

Forever missing Chuck, Bob, Dudley, Pauline, Elmo, Gracie, Bosley, Sunny and YaYa
