[Dailydrool] Letting Go

it has always been terribly hard to let go of our dogs, whether it means
sending them off into eternity or in one case letting a dog go live where
she would be happier.

I think, in an odd way, it should be so , especially when you are taking a
dog's life. If we could easily let them go, we would not have much
attachment to them. Death would be easy, and we would have hard hearts.

This summer we lost out Dexter, and I am still hurting from the loss. I
still miss every one of our dogs, even those I lost as a child. When you
care well for someone, it hurts to lose that person or animal.

I feel for you, losing Guinness. But the pain is a testimony that he has
been much loved. I pray your heart will heal, though he will always have a
place there, no matter how many years pass.

It isn't easy, but I think that's the way it has to be.
I m so sorry,
Pam, food slave to the Dashing Bassets, so many of whom have gone on before
me
