I always wonder if we would pass a home visit. The rescues we’ve adopted have never required one. Currently we have 5 dogs, three Bassets and two Bloodhounds. We have a small house that’s elevated so there are stairs. I raw feed our dogs. I minimally vaccinate. We currently have a male that’s not neutered because I don’t believe it’s in his best health interest to neuter him before he’s three or maybe four. We have a lot of “strikes” against us. But, that being said, I believed we are a pretty damn good family for a dog to land in.
Just like rescues, Reputable breeders have LOTS of requirements before they will consider placing one of their dogs. Talk about nerve wracking, going through that interview process!
Our Bloodhounds are rescues. Our Bassets are from reputable breeders.
There are lots of lives out there that need saving. Don’t count yourself out. Think of all that you have to offer and just fill out that application. The perfect hound for you is out there, somewhere, waiting.
Good luck!
