Not specifically Basset related but amusing anyway.  Some years ago a UK (OK 
Scottish) comedian recorded a spoof song of Tammy  Wynette's DIVORCE. If I can 
recall, it went something like  this:
 
Our little dog is six years old
And he's smarter than any darned  kid
'cos when you mention the V-E-T
He damn near flips his lid
 
Words like S-H-O-T shot 
And W-O-R-M worm
These are words that make him
Shake and start to squirm
 
His Q-U-A-R-A-T-I-N-E starts  today
Me and my wife and my wee scraggy  dog
Will soon be on our way
He caused me and my wife 
To have a big fight
And then they both bit me
 
And that is why we're going to  get
a D-I-V-O-R-C-E
