Snoopy is only doing what any dog who can will. What you need to do is 
train Natalie: no food gets left out on the counter or the stove - ever. 
It either goes in a cabinet or in the fridge (or on top of the fridge.) 
I know she's young, and kids often don't really think ahead, but if you 
stress the fact that Snoopy could not only get very sick, but could die, 
if he continues to get into food he's not supposed to have, maybe that 
will help. Harsh, but sometimes that's what it takes.

My dad has still not learned this lesson, even though Bertha (1/2 
basset, 1/2 American foxhound and very tall) has been with him and my 
mom for 4 years. Luckily she's never eaten anything that would make her 
terribly ill, but she has gotten quite obese.
