[Dailydrool] tendon tear?

Many different breeds have gotten this diagnosis among the dogs which frequent
our dog park.

Some had the surgery which costs thousands of dollars.

Some did not have the surgery.

ALL had six weeks of crate rest regardless of if they had surgery or not.

The recovery rate (improved use of the leg) seems to be around 60%.  In BOTH
groups.

So, it has been our observation, at the dog park, that the rest is significantly
necessary for the healing.  The surgery doesn't not seem to impact the results
unless it motivates the owner to enforce the crate rest due to the money spent.

That said I am NOT a vet, only an observer, and my advise is worth what you pay
for it.

It happened to my dog years ago (a lab) and her health didn't allow surgery and
I rested her 6 weeks and she got better.

Good luck,
Dale
